About Me!

It all started when...

My grandfather gave me my first camera. I was about 10. It was his Olympus film camera from 19.....something. It was old. I had a few lenses but I never really learned how to use that camera. Bet you didn't see that coming.

In fact I resorted to a life of punk rock. I grew up in a community in West Orange County, FL. All of my high school career was about being in a band, going to youth group, flirting with girls and telling my parents how  incredibly wrong they were about pretty much everything. You know....a real american teenager. I just wanted to be in a band and I figured the best tactic to getting for achieving that was just to know how to play what was needed to be in a band. When a band needed a bass player - I became a bass player. When a band needed a guitar player - I became one. Drummer? BOOM! drummer. But I don't care which one I'm doing because I just want to be on the team. So, I toured and played music with many different bands in the Central Florida area.

After about 10 years of doing this I decided it was time to embark on a new journey. A journey that, at first glance, appeared to be destiny. It appeared to be a calling, almost cosmic in a way. I became a comedian.  I had a lot of fun and made some really important relationships as a comedian. Comedy healed me, it was the best. I felt like an artist for the first time in my life. Never having to rely on anyone just puts everything on yourself. The laughs were mine and I didn't have to share them with anyone. When you're doing stand up comedy there's never like a bass player character saying "well, i wrote the bass part, man". It's just all yours. Which is also true of the silences. When jokes don't work, the silence was all mine too.

In 2014 I got married to the coolest girl in school(for real). My wife and I went to high school together and started dating in our late twenties. We made our way directly to Austin, TX where we lived for 3 years and where I renewed my relationship with the camera. I love taking photos because it's my way of taking a technical skill like photography and using my own perspective and experience and world view to show people how I frame beauty. I started shooting portraits in 2016 and have been published in magazines and websites including Sheeba Magazine, Indie Soliel Magazine and British Vogue. We now reside in Bronx, NY with our sweet pup Miss Gilly. Thanks for hearing my story!
